How long does it take to tile a bathroom?
The honest answer: most bathrooms take 2–5 days of tiling once the room is ready — but it depends on the size, the tile you’ve chosen and how much preparation the walls and floor need. Here’s a realistic breakdown so you can plan around it.

How long does it take to tile a small bathroom?
Around 2–3 days of tiling once the room is ready — roughly a day for prep and tanking, a day on the walls and a day for the floor, grouting and finishing.
Do I need to move out while my bathroom is tiled?
No. The house stays liveable — but that one bathroom is out of use while the work is on and for about 24 hours afterwards while the grout and silicone cure. If it’s your only bathroom, plan around it.
Why does a wet room take longer?
A wet room has to be fully tanked (waterproofed) and leak-tested before any tile goes down, and the tanking needs time to cure. That typically adds a day or two to a standard bathroom.
How soon can I use the shower after tiling?
Give the grout and silicone about 24 hours to cure before heavy use or a hot shower. Rushing it is how you end up with failed joints.
