Common questions

What does tiling cost?

It depends on the size of the area, the tile you choose and how much prep the surface needs — large-format, natural stone and heritage patterns take longer to lay than plain ceramic. Every job is priced individually: send a few photos and rough measurements and Wayne will give you a written fixed price, free and with no obligation.

Do you supply the tiles?

Either way. Wayne holds trade accounts with tile suppliers across Bedfordshire and passes the discount on, or he’ll fit tiles you’ve chosen yourself. If you’re buying, order 10–15% over for cuts and future repairs.

How long does a bathroom take?

Three to five days of tiling once the room is ready, plus a day or two for tanking, levelling or stripping out the old tiles.

Can you restore an original Victorian floor?

Usually. We lift and relay what’s sound, match missing pieces where they can still be sourced, and rebuild borders by hand. Send photographs and we’ll tell you honestly what’s salvageable.

Do you tile over underfloor heating?

Routinely. Flexible adhesive and grout throughout, a decoupling membrane where the substrate needs one, and correct commissioning before the heating goes on.

Which areas do you cover?

Bedford and across Bedfordshire — Ampthill, Biggleswade, Sandy, Flitwick, Kempston and the surrounding villages — plus Hertfordshire and nearby. Larger jobs in London by arrangement. If you’re not sure whether you’re in range, just ask.
